In its origins, the PuntAla Camping Resort was called Camping Puntala and it provided a back-to-nature holiday in the 1970s for camping guests with tents. As the camping ground grew larger and more refined, it opened its gates also to campervans and trailers. The shift from simple camping ground to camping-village happened in the early 1990s when the first functional and comfortable mobile homes, along with the concept of a tailor-made holiday, were introduced as an innovative and trend-setting offer on the market of international open-air tourism.
More recently, with a generational change in the company management, the logo was revised and most importantly the name changed from camping-village to camping resort. The motives behind this new-deal are to improve the image, strengthen the brand at an international level and identify the resort as a “holiday park” with a wide variety of hospitality and recreational services.
Innovative offers and consistent improvements have been rewarded by the patronage, year after year, of a steady flux of old and new guests, as well as by the recognition of national and international environmental institutions.
As a trend-setter in eco-tourism, and in synergy with the increasing environmental sensitivities of its guests, the PuntAla Camping Resort seeks to recreate a natural lifestyle and promote environmental awareness among its guests even during a relaxing holiday by the sea.
